Terms of Service
Last updated: July 22, 2026
CurbTalk ("we," "us") provides a browser extension and companion website that let signed-in users post comments about real estate listings on third-party sites such as Zillow and Redfin. By creating an account or using the extension, you agree to these Terms.
1. Your account
You must provide a username to post comments. Comments are attributed to that username, not your real name or email — but we do retain account and content records internally and may disclose them if required by law (see Section 6).
2. User content is yours — and your responsibility
You own the comments you post. By posting, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to store, display, and distribute that content as part of the service. You are solely responsible for what you post. You represent that your comments are truthful to the best of your knowledge and that you have the right to share them.
3. Prohibited content
You may not post content that:
- is knowingly false and presented as fact (e.g., fabricating defects, inspection results, or history about a specific property);
- is defamatory, harassing, or threatening toward a person;
- discloses another person's private information (addresses beyond the listing itself, phone numbers, financial or medical information);
- makes statements about a neighborhood, its residents, or a property's occupants based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, familial status, disability, or any other legally protected characteristic — this is prohibited regardless of intent and applies even to comments framed as "just a warning" (see the Fair Housing Act and equivalent state/local laws); or
- is spam, advertising, or unrelated to the listing.
We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section, at our discretion and without notice.
4. Comments are opinions, not verified facts
We do not verify, endorse, or fact-check user comments. Comments reflect the views of the individual who posted them, not CurbTalk. Do not rely on any comment as a substitute for your own inspection, disclosures, or professional advice before making a real estate decision.
5. Reporting content
If you believe a comment is false, defamatory, or otherwise violates Section 3, use the "Report" button next to the comment, or email us at the address in Section 9. We will review reports and may remove content at our discretion. We aim to review reports promptly but do not guarantee removal timelines.
6. Legal process and disclosure
We may disclose account information (including information that could identify the author of a comment) in response to a valid subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or where we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to comply with the law, protect our rights, or protect the safety of any person.
7. No warranty; limitation of liability
The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, CurbTalk and its operator are not liable for any damages arising from your use of the service or from any user-submitted content, including content that turns out to be false or inaccurate.
8. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CurbTalk and its operator from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from content you post or your violation of these Terms.
9. Contact
Questions, reports, or legal notices: makethisdothatconsulating@gmail.com.
10. Changes
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
