Privacy Policy

CurbTalk ("we," "us") is a browser extension and companion website for posting comments on real estate listings. This page explains what data we collect and why.

1. What we collect

• Account info: your email address and chosen username, handled by our authentication provider, Clerk.
• Content you post: comments, star ratings, and reactions, along with the listing URL/address they're attached to.
• Listing data: when you visit a Zillow, Redfin, Trulia, or Realtor.com listing with the extension installed, it reads that page's price, status, photo, and MLS number to attach your comment to the right listing. This only happens on those listing pages — the extension does not run or collect anything elsewhere.
• Standard technical logs: our hosting (Vercel) and database (Supabase) providers keep normal request logs (e.g. IP address, timestamps) as part of operating the service.

2. How we use it

• Account info is used only to authenticate you and attribute the comments you post to your chosen username.
• Content you post is displayed publicly on that listing's comment thread, and used to send the notifications you've opted into — e.g. emailing you when someone replies to your comment or posts on a home you follow.
• Listing data (price, status, photo, MLS number) is used only to identify the correct property and link comment threads for the same home across Zillow, Redfin, Trulia, and Realtor.com, and to display that listing info back to you and other users on its comment thread.
• Technical logs are used only for debugging, security, and operating the service — not analyzed for marketing or advertising.

We don't sell your data. We don't show ads or use tracking/analytics pixels for advertising. We don't read or collect anything from websites other than the listing pages named in Section 1, and we don't use your data for any purpose beyond what's described above.

3. How we store it

Account credentials and authentication are handled entirely by Clerk — we never see or store your password ourselves. Comments, ratings, listing data, and follows are stored in our database (Supabase, running PostgreSQL) and transmitted over encrypted HTTPS connections. Content you post is retained until you delete it or request account deletion (Section 5); technical logs are retained only as long as our hosting (Vercel) and database (Supabase) providers' standard operational log-retention periods.

4. Who we share it with

Your comments, username, and star ratings are visible to other signed-in users of the extension — that's the point of the product. Behind the scenes, we use Clerk for authentication and Supabase for data storage — both process data on our behalf under their own privacy policies. We may also disclose account information in response to a valid subpoena, court order, or other legal process; see Section 7 of our Terms of Service.

5. Your choices

You can delete any comment you've posted at any time from the extension panel. To delete your account entirely or request a copy of your data, email us at the address below.

6. Children

CurbTalk is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
